Dimapur, August 4 (MExN): The NNC today expressed condemnation for the killing of “innocent Naga people of Zeme in particular” by Dimasa militants in Assam’s North Cachar Hills. “In particular, the Zeme Nagas are suffering the most in the hands of Dimasa militants. The Dimasa militants are targeting innocent persons like young girl of 17 years even in broad daylight in the market. Even innocent person was killed worst than animal in the street, market, villages, etc…and this is completely going beyond the limit of human sense, dignity and tolerance,” a note from the NNC (which faction not specified) stated. The note said the Naga people cannot remain silent spectators “all the time when our brothers and sisters are butchered in this manner every time by the Dimasa militants or people.” Asserting that the Naga people are “maintaining utmost restraint to let peace and tranquility prevail” in the region, the NNC note said the “Naga people also can do the same, there are many people living in the Naga area too.” “Enough is enough, don’t go beyond the limit of human tolerance,” the note added.
