NNC, FGN withdraw support to Gen. Thinoselie’s leadership

DIMAPUR, FEBRUARY 14 (MExN): The NNC and the FGN in a joint meeting held on February 13, 2013 in Dimapur has resolved to withdraw support to the leadership of Gen. Thinoselie M. Keyho as president of NNC and entrust Senka Ao, vice president NNC with the responsibility of managing the affairs of the NNC.

A press release issued on the joint meeting stated that when the Government of India (GoI) and the NNPGs have agreed to resolve the Naga political issue through negotiation based on the understanding that the GoI recognizes the historical and political rights of the Nagas to self determine their future in consonance with their distinct identity, the NNC president Gen. Thinoselie instead has chosen to oppose the talks before the talks have reached any logical conclusion.

It also alleged that the NNC under his leadership has failed to serve the interest of the Naga people as it has failed to make any policies to give political guidance to the Nation. Further, the NNC President has also not given his co-operation to the FGN activities, it added.

Therefore, the NNC and the FGN “in the interest of the nation” said it have resolved to withdraw support to the leadership of Gen. Thinoselie M. Keyho as NNC president from today, the 13th February, 2019.
