NNC for “inclusive” platform

Dimapur, July 24 (MExN): The Naga National Council today said it welcomes any “concerned body of NGOs” or even “state body” that is ‘inclusive’ and with neutrality to work for Naga reconciliation. An inclusive platform that is neutral will be supported, the NNC stated in a note today even as it claimed that the Forum for Naga Reconciliation was “exclusive.”

“But the NNC does not believe in partial reconciliation with two, three groups leaving behind the rest,” the note said. It also  claimed that the Forum for Naga Reconciliation was “exclusive and incomplete leaving behind the rest.”

The note said that the “NNC worked and stands for genuine Naga reconciliation in reality as the very stand and resolution of NNC after the fragmentation of the NNC and FGN in 1980.” It however, termed as ‘very unfortunate’ that the “parent body” has been “always sidelined and neglected even after many years of hard work for the Naga peace and unity.”

“But the NNC will always welcome the genuine and neutral body who will work inclusive with all the Nagas in the affairs of Naga reconciliation. The NNC will never support the body or NGOs who work partially and exclusively,” the note said. The NNC note was appended by Yilow Lotha, member of the group’s central executive council.

On the Forum for Naga Reconciliation, the note claimed that was working for reconciliation “only with NSCN IM, NSCN K and FGN.” It also claimed the forum “is exclusive and incomplete leaving behind the rest.” The NNC “does not anymore believe the FNR work for Naga reconciliation is as if completed,” it said.

“The NNC is yet to see the work of the Naga Common Platform recently formed to bring all the Nagas together. But the NNC welcome the Naga Common Platform to work with complete neutrality and inclusively with all the Nagas,” the note added.
