The Naga National Council (NNC) Lotha Region convened at the Tourist Lodge Resort today to elect new leaders committed to advancing the Naga political solution, following the unification of the NNC Lotha Region, led by Yillow Humtsoe, and the NNC under ‘Gen’ (Retd) Thinoselie M Keyho on September 4, 2024.
The newly elected officials are as follows: Ekyimthung Patton as President; Yanjamo Yanthan and Nchumbemo Kithan as Vice Presidents; Thungchanbemo as General Secretary; Tsenjamo Humtsoe as Joint Secretary cum Finance; Limhathung Tanglao as Treasurer; and Tsumomo Yanthan and Riphamo Kithan as Advisors.
In the meeting, members resolved to work collaboratively on the Naga political issue, guided by the principles of the 1929 Simon Commission, the May 16, 1951 Naga Plebiscite, and the August 14, 1947 Naga Independence Declaration. They emphasised their commitment to pursuing Naga sovereignty.
