NNC Parent Body cautions former Gen Secy

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 4 (MExN): The Naga National Council -Parent Body(NNC-PB) today issued a caution to its former General Secretary, V Nagi to “stop his destructive political play when the whole Nagas are striving for peaceful settlement on the pertaining Naga issues which are at the final stage.”


A press release from the MIP Cell of the NNC Parent Body stated that “there is no meaning of paper-war when the Nagas in general are fully aware of the Government of India having negotiations.”


It meanwhile clarified that “V Nagi’s membership and active involvement in NNC-PB and Co-convener of NNPGs WC was terminated on June 6 last year as per the Azha (Law) by the president and the Central Executive Council members which was endorsed by all the Regional authorities with a voice vote in the house…” 


However, it lamented that the concerned person “continues to ostensibly claim his leadership at NNC-PB with a few handpicked trivial members like Yillow Humtseo and Zhiongba Yimchunger who are not capable or not qualified for the assigned posts acting President and vice president respectively.”


Claiming that V Nagi is a “self-proclaimed leader,” the NNC Parent Body urged “Naga brethren not be misled...” It further cautioned the individual to “stay away from NNC-PB matters before any untoward punishment befalls upon him.”

 

NNC-PB condoles 


Meanwhile, the Naga National Council-Parent Body (NNC-PB) led by President Z Royim Yimchunger has condoled the demise of Jeptakyangla walling, 95 year old of Sungratsu Village, Mokokchung District, Who passed away on August 3 after a prolonged illness.


In a condolence message, it stated that “Late Jeptakyangla Walling was the wife of Late General Pangeryoungdang Walling, the founder and former President of the Naga National Council.”


“She was also the mother of Toshi Walling, the General Secretary of Naga National Council Parent Body and Co-convener NNPGs Working Committee,” it added.


The NNC-PB stated that Late Jeptakyangla, during her lifetime “had worked and supported the Naga Political movement along with her late husband till her last breath.”


 “She was also a God-fearing and lovely mother to everyone,” it added, further stating that her sacrifices and contributions for the nation is highly appreciated and acknowledged by the Nagas which will not go in vain as it will be recorded in the Naga history,” it added.


It further shared in solidarity the bereavement with the family members and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.
