NNC Parent Body reaffirms commitment to 'Agreed Position'

Dimapur, September 20 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) Parent Body has issued a statement reaffirming its commitment to the ‘Agreed Position’ signed on November 17 between the Government of India and the Working Committee (WC) of the Naga National Political Groups (NNPGs).

The declaration comes in response to circulating rumors that have raised concerns over the NNC Parent Body’s stance on the agreement.
The NNC Parent Body emphasized its role as one of the signatories to the agreement and reassured the public that it is fully committed to upholding the terms of the ‘Agreed Position’ until its complete implementation. The organization stated that any internal differences within the NNC should not be misconstrued as a deviation from their support for the agreement.

The statement, signed by President Z. Royim and Lieutenant General Throngso of the NNC Parent Body, stressed that the party remains a key stakeholder in the peace process and will continue to safeguard the agreement.

They reiterated that disregarding the ‘Agreed Position’ is not a possibility and that the NNC Parent Body stands unwavering in its commitment to the accord.

The declaration was also endorsed by Akiuba, Advisor to the Collective Leadership, Akheho Achumi, Chairman of UT-1, and Adi Tzudir, Home Kilonser of the NNC Parent Body.

The NNC Parent Body's clarification seeks to dispel any misinformation and prevent the spread of rumors, thereby ensuring that the public has an accurate understanding of the party's position in the ongoing peace talks.
