Dimapur, July 26 (MExN): Reacting to the press release of July 23 disowning Z Royim as President of the NNC-Parent Body, another press release was received on July 25, which stated that Royim is the “legitimate and consensus” President of the NNC-Parent Body.
Both releases were issued via email but through different IDs. The July 23 release was issued by the Information & Publicity Cell of the Yimchungrü Region, NNC-Parent Body, while the one issued on July 25 was from the MIP Cell, NNC-Parent Body.
“The Naga National Council Parent Body led by President Z. Royim is the only legitimate and consensus NNC-Parent Body, under whose authority and leadership the NNPGs working Committee has recognized as the only Naga National Council Parent Body to have negotiations with the GoI from the initial stage of Naga political peace talk,” the release issued said.
It warned any “unauthorized self-styled individuals or group” against using the name of the Parent Body and added that doing so would “derail the hard-earned ongoing political talk with the Government of India, which is at the final stage.”
It further warned of stern action as per the “Azha” if anybody uses its nomenclature or publishes any article without the knowledge of the Parent Body.
According to the release, the NNC-PB under the leadership of President Z. Royim Yimchungrü, Vice President SK Zhimomi Sumi, General Secretary Toshi Walling Ao, Assistant General Secretary Liangkebo Pamai Zeliang, CEC Members and Regional authorities are firmly working for the peaceful settlement of the Naga political issue under the NNPGs Working Committee.
