NNC President Adinno mourns passing of Lt Gen Pokho

Kohima, April 12 (MExN): Naga National Council, President Adinno Phizo has mourned the passing away of Lieut Gen Pokho, Khiamniungan Region on April 10. 

In her condolence note, Adinno said that Lieut Gen Pokho was one of the dedicated Naga Army Officers sacrificing his whole life for the Naga Nation. He took charge in various commands as a Commander and fought against the enemies in many battle fields bringing laurel to the Naga Nation. 

He was a recipient of Victory Cross, Military Cross and Hero Award. He was a member of the National Defence Advisory Board (NDAB), Federal Government of Nagaland. 

“His sudden demise is a grievous loss and the vacuum created by his death will be difficult to replace in the field of National Defence Service,” she said and extended condolence to the bereaved family on behalf of NNC.

FGN C-in-C conveys condolences

In a press release, Maj Gen Pezangulie Khelietsu, C-in-C, Naga Army, Federal Government of Nagaland also mourned the demise of Lieut Gen K Pokho. “He was a true patriot who sacrificed everything he had for the cause of the Naga Nation. Indeed his demise is a great loss to the Naga Army and the Naga people in General and the vacuum left by him will be difficult to fill. Though he is no longer with us, his invaluable contribution in the service of the Naga nation will always be remembered,” Khelietsu stated. “At this hour of bereavement, I on my own behalf and on behalf of the Naga Army, Federal Government of Nagaland convey our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family members and share their grief,” he added.
