DIMAPUR, DEC 29 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) has now blamed what it termed as “compelling evidence” of the so-called Naga experts in Delhi obsessively depending on the Hindu ‘treatise on statecraft’, the Arthashastra, written by Kautilya, and its evil designs to destroy the democratically elected FGN and the NNC. “Not surprisingly, the current stage-manage peace process that Delhi engages with the renegade ringleaders, the self-styled collective leadership”, the NNC points out, unmistakably prescribes to the methods as prescribed in the Arthashastra.
Stating that the Government of India’s so-called Naga experts may be well versed in the four ‘upayas’ and ‘asana’ of the aforementioned treatise “but they clearly have not only limited knowledge of, but harbour much misunderstanding about the reality of modern Nagaland”, the NNC remarked while adding that the ‘treatise on statecraft’ couldn’t save the Hindu kingdoms from millennia of foreign rule”.
The NNC President Adinno Phizo in her New Year message from London also pointed out that the Tangkhul community, among others from ‘Naga inhabited areas’ were newcomers who sought to join NNC and FGN only after the 1964 Cease-fire Agreement with the GoI.
“Nevertheless, the national status of the newcomers is yet to be settled, as such the self-styled collective leadership extravagant claim of championing sovereignty couldn’t have been taken for anything other than appertaining to the realm of fantasy”.
Adinno also alleged that the abortive bloody coup d’etat staged in Eastern Nagaland by Isak Chishi Swu and Thuingaleng Muivah marked the beginning of the renegade Nagas killing Nagas. “Post-1979, the people of Nagaland became the enemy number one of the renegade gang shielded by the Indian army camped in Nagaland”, it alleged while adding that “contrary to certain revisionist propaganda, the ringleaders have no authority to question Naga Constitution”.
“With no popular support forthcoming, the ringleaders sowed the seeds of insidious alien political culture of lies, blame, and hatred. For far too long our people did not take it seriously what was thought to be an internal matter until it became clear that in place of our beloved Nagaland, the renegades intend to create an abstract socialist entity in cahoots with Delhi”, Adinno stated.
Pointing out that the people of Nagaland know the difference between the conflict with India that involve two nations and the internal power struggle, Adinno charged Delhi for brazenly supporting “renegade fake nationalists” to supplant the NNC and FGN. “Not surprisingly, many of the Indian sponsored partisan NGOs now fear their credibility fast slipping away. Media play a crucial role in modern society and we thank the ever resilient Nagaland media for serving Naga society under very difficult circumstances in true Naga spirit”, the NNC President stated.
Sending her greetings and best wishes to the Naga people for the New Year, Adinno thanked the Almighty God for sustaining the people while the nation stoically endure the unremitting Indian occupation army militarized tyranny. “Regardless of the prevailing fragile state of affairs, our resilient people look forward to the New Year with confidence on the future and we pray to God for His guidance and blessing upon Nagaland in the path of freedom”.
Stating that Naga people don’t need any reminding on the core issue of Indian aggression against Nagaland over five decades and that India remained in denial of this despite the facts of history when A.Z.Phizo led the independent Naga community representatives to take the bold step and duly declared to the world that Nagaland will stay independent on 14 August 1947, a day ahead of the former British India independence. “Thereafter, following the historic voluntary national plebiscite held on 16 May 1951, the Naga people immutably entrusted the NNC with the national mandate”.
