DIMAPUR, NOVEMBER 24 (MExN): The Naga National Council (Parent Body) under the leadership of Yilow Humtsoe, Zhiongba Yimkhiung and V Nagi has welcomed the resolutions adopted during the celebration of 150 years of Christianity in Nagaland on November 19 and 20.
“The NNC indeed praise our Living God and thank the Nagaland Baptist Church Council (NBCC) for organising this historic mega event in the interest of all the Christians in the Homeland and Christians at large,” a press release from the Information and Publicity Wing of the NNC (Parent Body) stated.
It especially extended support to resolution numbers 9 and 10 which affirmed “to stand firm and be true to the commitment as responsible citizens of the land and as agents playing a proactive role on issues of Christian social responsibility. And to work for greater unity and better understanding among various pursuits and conflicts that divides and damages the historical harmony of the Nagas.” “To this end, the NBCC affirm their shared oneness and resolved to stand in the gap in their collective search for political solution that is non-violent, just and honourable,” the resolution further said.
“This is a dutiful Christian led responsibility and stands for the Naga people and the Naga National workers in particular at this urgent time,” the NNC (Parent Body) stated.
It urged the NBCC to implement the resolutions “in the best interest of the Homeland and all concerned people.” “May our living God bless and help the NBCC Body to fulfil the commitments for the Glory of God,” it hoped.
