NNC/FGN re-elects leadership, cautions against extortion

Kohima, January 31 (MExN): The 70th Tatar Hoho of Federal Government of Nagaland (NNC/FGN) held at Kohima on January 29, has re-elected K Vadeo and Haingau Zeliang as Kedahge and Kedallo respectively for the tenure 2026-2030.

It also elected former Deputy Speaker, HK Zeliang, to the post of Speaker for the same tenure, stated a press release received here. The meeting further filled up the vacancies in the Tatar Hoho. A separate list of the new members will be prepared, it stated.

In a significant resolution, the meeting noted that it has come to the notice of the authorities that some miscreants are taking the name of the NNC/FGN to indulge in extortion and illegal tax collection.

The meeting strongly warned those individuals who tarnish the fair name of the NNC/FGN for selfish ends. It stated that the NNC/FGN will not tolerate such “unwarranted activities and will take disciplinary action in extreme terms.”

“Going against the people in the name of 'fighting for freedom' has no meaning,” it affirmed.
