
Dimapur, April 15 (MExN): The Sumi Region NNC/FGN has reiterated unconditional support to the Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC, NNPGs) in the political dialogue with Government of India, while affirming faith on its central authorities.
It was part of the two resolutions adopted during a joint meeting of the Sumi Region NNC/FGN and Naga Army under the Region with the Central authorities of the NNC/FGN under Brig. (Retd) Singnya and President, Senka Ao April 14 in Dimapur.
The meeting discussed issues of national importance faced by the Region in particular and the Naga Nation in general, informed a press release from the Regional President, Sumi Region NNC/FGN, Vikato Zhimo and Midan Peyu, Sumi Region, Khutovi Awomi.
“The joint meeting unanimously reiterated continued unconditional support to the WC, NNPGs in the political dialogue with GoI,” it said.
However, it expressed concern that even after a lapse of more than 3 years of concluding the negotiations there is no formal accord/agreement.
Accordingly, the joint meeting appealed to the negotiating parties to expedite an honourable and acceptable solution at the earliest.
The joint meeting also puts on record its appreciation to the immense contributions and sacrifices of the Sumi Community towards the Naga cause through its participation in the NNC/FGN, right from its inception till date, it said. It further appealed the Sumi community to continue its unflinching support to the NNC/FGN under the Kedahge, Singnya and President, Senka, it added.
