DIMAPUR, JUNE 22 (MExN): The Council of Kilonsers, NNC/FGN has annulled all its administrative orders pertaining to the Konyak region and the region will henceforth function under the direct control of the Kedahge/Kedallo, NNC/FGN.
A press statement issued by the Ministry of Rali Wali Affairs, FGN said this was resolved at a meeting held on June 21 to discuss and deliberate on the problems that continue to plague the Konyak region.
It has now prohibited collection of any tax, financial transfers and has suspended all activities in the region till the Regional Leacy Hoho is properly constituted and fully functional.
A three member team comprising of T. V. Litsaba, Kilonser as convenor, Tingloi Konyak, Kilonser as member and Ghuvishe Zhimomi, Cabinet Secretary as member secretary have been entrusted with the responsibility of conducting the election of the Leacies within a period of 1 (one) month, i.e. on or before July 31, 2019.
Accordingly, the FGN has prohibited appointing “drunkards, addicts, anti-socials and individuals of doubtful characters to any of its post and in the Naga Army. It said strict action would be initiated against the official (s) responsible for the recommendation as well as to the appointee.
The Konyak Regional Leacy Hoho will be constituted under the direct supervision of the Kedallo, Kilo Kilonser, Lota Kilonser, Law & Justice Kilonser and the Cabinet Secretary, it added.
