NNC/GDRN (N-A) ‘terminates’ membership of three, including General Secretary

Dimapur, February 6 (MExN): The Naga National Council, Government of the Democratic Republic of Nagaland (Non-Accord), has “unanimously decided” to terminate the membership of Shehoto I Yesca, General Secretary; L Shiludi Longkumer, Kilonser; and Tovi Yepthomi, Secretary, from the group.

The decision was taken at an emergency meeting convened by NNC/GDRN(N-A) President Kiumukam Yimkhiung on February 6, with all Council of Kiloners, Naga Army officers, and all regional heads, stated a release from George Yangba Konyak, MIP, NNC/GDRN (N-A).

According to the release, the trio were accused of “anti-government activities, misleading and false accusations against the President, and for trying to disable the government,” and charged as empowered in the Yezhabo under Article 23 and 24 (General) and Article 39, Clause 1 and 4 (Executive Power of the President).

The release further stated that Yesca’s mental status had been in question for a long time, and his true colours were now “exposed” by allegedly attempting to remove the President from his position with a mere three-member team.

Accordingly, the terminated members were cautioned and warned not to use the nomenclature ‘NNC/GDRN (N-A)’ in any form or in print.

It also clarified that at no point had Yepthomi been MIP Secretary or attached to the ministry.

This termination order comes into immediate effect from the day of issuance, the release added.

The release also asserted that the Government of NNC/GDRN (N-A) remains intact, and the incumbent MIP Kilonser Konyak has been appointed as the Caretaker General Secretary of the government.
