NNPGs WC condole death of 6 NSCN (IM) cadres

DIMAPUR, JULY 20 (MExN): The NNPGs Working Committee (WC) has expressed condolences at the death of the 6 NSCN (IM) cadres who were killed in Longding District of Arunachal Pradesh.

A press release from the media cell of the NNPGs WC said that the incident was a “perversion of military code of conduct in a conflict situation.”

“The plan was to take no prisoners and kill at any cost. The gallant men were murdered in cold blood. The Indian Army has, by the very act, transgressed ethical and moral treatment of enemies even though there is ceasefire and political talks,” said the NNPGs WC.

The Working Committee reminded the March 24, 1956 incident at Satakha, under Sumi Region, where “seventy eight Indian Army personnel were captured by Naga freedom fighters and not one was harmed although it was in the middle of armed conflict.” It also cited how in 1960, an Indian Dakota cargo plane was shot down at Phor Village in Pochury Region and “all nine crew members were captured by Naga Army and lives spared. They too reached home safely to tell the tale.”

“We may be divided by nomenclatures, ideologies and political beliefs but all are Nagas by blood, sharing same history, political right and one future,” it added, while conveying condolences to the bereaved families.
