Nagaland Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio today informed that there were no cases registered against the authorized dealers associated with the Nagaland State Lotteries.
“However, there have been instances where FIRs have been registered against individuals involved in selling fake/duplicate tickets of Nagaland State Lotteries,” Rio said while replying to MLA Kuzholüzo (Azo) Nienu’s starred question at the second session of the 14th Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) in Kohima.
On being asked how many cases were investigated by the central agencies, viz CBI, ED etc. against the Nagaland State Lotteries, Rio stated “There is no such case investigated against Nagaland State Lotteries. A formal request for information from the Enforcement Directorate was received by Directorate of Lotteries, to which reply has been furnished.”
There is no known case of evasion of GST as alleged, Rio stated.
On being asked whether Nagaland State Lotteries is under enquiry by the C&AG of India, Central GST and MHA, Rio stated that C&AG regularly conducts audit. However, they are not known to conduct enquiries. “We have no knowledge of any enquiry by GST,” Rio stated.
As regard to the MHA, Rio stated a meeting was called by them to discuss in detail the working of Nagaland State Lotteries, and “replies furnished by the department have been found to be satisfactory.”
