NYK Kohima organizes Tiranga Rally

The Nehru Yuva Kendra Kohima under the aegis of Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India organized Tiranga Rally as part of Har Ghar Tiranga campaign on August 11.
The rally is part of the celebration of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
It was organized in association with St Mary’s Cathedral Higher Secondary School, Lerie, Kohima.
The rally witnessed mass participation of around 1500 students.
The rally started from the school premises to CRPF camp, Lerie where the school children and all other participants carried national flags besides chanting patriotic slogans, band party and songs.
A short programme was held at CRPF camp along with the CRPF jawans where National flag was hoisted at the campus.
Speaking on the occasion, John Makhabo, Director– in-charge NYKS, Nagaland said “Har Ghar Tiranga campaign is conducted this year as a part of the 75th year of India’s Independence.
He said that India is a land of diversity, with diverse races, colors, cultures, traditions and customs.
“There is no country in the world as diverse as India. Yet, the beautiful element is that, there is strong sense of oneness and unity among the people of India. We are bond together as a unified country for the past 75 years,” he said.
Har Ghar Tiranga is also to generate patriotism among the people and remembrance of those who sacrificed for our country, he said.
“Today, India has made tremendous developments in all spheres. That is why other countries of the world respect our country. Our philosophies and ideologies are accepted in the world. From third world country, we are making rapid progress as a developed country. We have every reason to be proud of our motherland,” Makhabo said.
He also appealed to all the responsible citizens of the country to continuously render their efforts in making India a superpower country.
NLA Secretariat, CBC Field Office conduct rallies
As per a press release, the Nagaland Legislative Assembly Secretariat organized a programme under the Campaign, with the participation of students from the Government Middle School, Secretariat, Kohima.
Similarly, the Press information Bureau informed that the Central Bureau of Communication Field Office Kohima organized a programme at the Kendriya Vidyala School Kohima on Friday, with the focus to strengthen people’s relationship with the tricolour and invoke a feeling of patriotism among students and to promote awareness about the Indian national flag.
Resource person Amit Kumar, faculty of KVS, called upon the students to hoist the national flag at their respective homes from August 13 to 15, and also encouraged others to hoist the flag. As part of the campaign, a public rally was organised wherein Santosh Kumar, Principal of KVS Kohima, flagged off the rally. Patriotic song and quiz competitions were also held to mark the celebration.
