Dimapur, May 15 (MExN): With government and municipal failing to respond to their pleas, the Circuit House Colony Council took upon themselves to repair the deplorable road of the colony on May 13.
The colony council has been appealing to the government for maintenance of road in view of the deplorable road condition in the colony for more than two decades, according to a press release.
“With no assistance from government, the colony citizens with the prime objective to maintain the road which is also home to two prominent government assets- Circuit House Dimapur and historical monument Kachari ruins (Rajbari) voluntarily carried out the mission of road repairing work on Saturday May 13,” it added.
The council members maintained that a local contractor was allotted the contract to repair the road. However, with no positive outcome, the colony citizens have been maintaining the road with contribution from the residents.
