Wokha, September 29 (MExN): LOU-DHEP former President R Yanthan has issued a rejoinder with regard to the demands placed by Land Owners’ Union, Doyang Hydro Electric Project (DHEP), NEEPCO Ltd published in the local dailies on September 26 stating that “there is no legit LOU-DHEP at present.”
“While expressing concern on the issues of employment policy, infrastructural development, Upgradaton of educational institutions, health care facilities and other amenities, the undersigned once again would like to clear the air that there is no legit LOU-DHEP at present,” he stated in the rejoinder.
He further stated that “the select list of executive members of the LOU-DHEP from the 17 villages which were approved by the then Deputy Commissioner, Wokha, for the matter of LOU-DHEP presidential election has been quashed by the High Court in WP(C) NO 89 (K) of 2017.”
“Therefore, in view of the pendency of the aforesaid case, no individual or group has the legal right to use the nomenclature of LOU-DHEP and if any group or individual exercises any authority in the name of the LOU DHEP, such exercise of power is at their own volition without any sanction of law which may even attract contempt of the Court's proceedings,” he added.
