No to monetary gifts; development top priority

Medziphema orgs make clarion call for clean election

Dimapur, February 10 (MExN): While supporting clean election, outsiders or voters not listed in the e-roll of Medziphema Town should not interfere in the democratic voting processes of any polling station in its jurisdiction on polling day, the frontal organisations of Medziphema Town resolved on Saturday.  

In this regard, the youths have been entrusted to initiate necessary measures for a free and fair polling on February 27, resolved the coordination meeting led by its apex body, the Medziphema Town Mechü Krotho (MTMK), i.e. public organisation.  

The meeting held at CYO Hall, Medziphema, on February 10, also passed several other resolutions regarding clean electoral practice.  

The house which consisted of MTMK, Gaonburas, Medziphema Town Women Organisation (MTWO), Medziphema Town Youth Organisation (MTYO), Medziphema Town Students’ Union (MTSU) and Medziphema Town Trade Union (MTTU) has made a clarion call to the different communities, colonies, groups, organisations, etc “never to beg nor receive monetary gifts from election related matters but to denounce such practices.”  

The house further affirmed that “all round development of Medziphema should be our top priority,” and not other gifts during election which may adversely affect developmental works in future.  

Bonafide voters are requested to exercise their rights from respective polling stations in Medziphema Town without leaving for their native villages and towns, stated joint press statement appended by MTMK President, Akhoto Kuotsu, MTYO President, Asazo Talie, MTWO President, Rüüzeü Khate, MTSU President, Kevisese Krose, MTTU President, Ako Kuotsu, and MTMK General Secretary, Khrielie Iralu.
