Dimapur, May 5 (MExN): Reacting to the United Colony Council’s asserting that there is “no more Half-Nagarjan,” the Nagarjan Village Council has cautioned the UCC not to issue such notices, clearly knowing that NVC does not fall under the UCC.
A note from the chairman of the NVC Aru Khate informed that till 2006, UCC fell under Nagarjan Village Council, ward 20 Dimapur. The residents had approached the council for a separate colony for which Nagarjan village readily agreed to this and allow the request with clear demarcation of its boundaries. On the western side extends from Nagarjan police point following Nagarjan main road till the end point of GHSS colony which was inaugurate by MP Wangyuh Konyak in the later part of 2006, the NVC informed.
The United Colony Council possesses no authority to state that there is “no more Half Nagarjan” nor do they have any right to direct others not to use the name of Half Nagarjan, the NVC reminded. However, for the ‘other remaining part’ outside the demarcated areas of United Colony Ward 20 shall continue to use the name (Half Nagarjan) till the residents decided otherwise, the council stated cautioning not to issue notices to those beyond their (UCC’s) jurisdiction. This would help maintain cordial relationship among the local populace, it added.
