Dimapur, August 31 (MExN): The Naga National Council (NNC) has sought to appease the public that “there is no more misunderstanding or enmity between the two”, the NNC and the FGN, as was projected in the recent press statements and rejoinders issued by the two groups. The NNC informed that a joint meeting was held on August 31 between the two parties (NNC and FGN) led by Kiheto Sumi, President of NNC, Sumi Region, and Tokugha Zhimomi, Brigadier, FGN, “over the recent imbroglio of press statement issued by Federal Government under the caption ‘FGN Wars Extortionists’ that appeared on August 25 and rejoinder made by NNC on August 29 for the same under the caption ‘NNC Sumi Region clarifies on news item’.”
“As per the meeting, the NNC/FGN” has clarified “that there is no more misunderstanding or enmity between the two that cropped up recently,” a press release issued by Kiheto Sumi states. “The two leaders unanimously resolved to work together for the ongoing Naga Reconciliation and Unification,” it added.
