No more unauthorised boards: CP Dimapur

•    Unauthorised installation to be removed immediately
•    Seek prior approval from competent authority for installation

Dimapur, December 5 (MExN): The Commissioner of Police, Dimapur has issued an advisory to remove unauthorised boards installed across Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland districts.

The advisory has been issued in view of rampant and increasing number of banners, posters, hoardings and digital advertisement boards being installed on foot over bridges, along the Highways and other strategic locations across Dimapur, Chümoukedima and Niuland districts, causing serious concerns for public safety and traffic management. 

“The general public is hereby informed that any such unauthorised installations shall be removed immediately,” Kevithuto Sophie, IPS Commissioner of Police, Dimapur stated in the advisory. 

In this connection, individuals, institutions, organizations, business establishments etc intending to install banners, posters, hoardings or advertisement boards must seek prior approval from the office of the Commissioner of Police & District Magistrate as notified vide Home Department letter No_POL-1/ESTT/13/2014/E dated 17/12/2014, it directed.

“Henceforth, only such installations bearing the approval order of the competent authority shall be allowed,” the Commissioner of Police Dimapur added.

Seek prior approval for organising events 
Further, organisers of shows, concerts, carnivals, exhibitions, plays or drama etc have been instructed to “seek prior approval of the Commissioner of Police for organising any such events.”

In this regard, the general public has been appealed to cooperate in the interest of public safety. “Strict legal actions shall be taken against violators under relevant sections of law,” it cautioned.
