No one is backward: CM Chang

Khuza Town, January 22 (MExN): Minister for School Education, CM Chang today graced the Chakhesang Students’ Union 67th annual session cultural competition programme as the chief guest.

A press release issued by the PS to the Minister, addressing the students, Chang said that 16 Naga tribes have their distinct culture, which should be preserved. “If the Naga tribes cannot keep their culture, they will lose their identity.” Chang mentioned the tag of backward tribe, which the present generation requires to debate. The Minister emphasized that the Nagas are one and should not use two citizenship on line of backward and forward. He encouraged the students saying, “When you can do much better than any advanced tribe, why this tag. Individually no one is backward.”

Speaking on the occasion Sovenyi, President of Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) also spoke on ‘Naga culture.’ He said Nagas have borrowed other culture, but now its time we give our good culture to others as we have treasures of good culture. “It is in Khuza town the Students from the land of tradition were in stiff Cultural Competition,” he added.
Zaveyi Nyekha, Director School Education, Pollem Tep, Addl. Director School Education, MP Nokshang, Vice President NPF Nagaland, Ongbou PS to Minister School Education and Lhoutsolo Koza, PS to Parliamentary Secretary Horticulture, accompanied the Minister.
