Dimapur, September 8 (MExN): That it has been actively participating in the reconciliation efforts of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation, the FGN today said it will not be a party to any other ‘front or platform.’ A note from ‘killo kilonser’ Zaleo of the FGN (faction unspecified in the note) said the clarification is being made “so that Nagas will not be confused nor misled at this juncture.” “It has to be noted that since the inception of the Forum for Naga Reconciliation by our people in Feb, 2008, the Federal Government of Nagaland had been co-operating and actively participating in all the talks at Chiangmai and Nagaland and also the Reconciliation Football matches at Kohima and Dimapur last year,” the note said.
The FGN said it is a clear indication and the unspoken stand of the FGN on reconciliation, peace and unity of the Nagas. “Beyond this fact, let everyone know that the FGN will not be a party to any other front or platform. It is a fact that the FGN did not attend any other consultative meeting so far and the stand of the govt. shall remain so,” the note said. Stating that the common yearning of the Nagas for peace and unity cannot be ignored any longer, the ‘killo kilonser’ expressed confidence that ‘we will make it a reality that our people reconcile on the basis of our historical and political rights.’
