Kohima, August 26 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of Regional Transport Authority (RTA), Kohima, Rovilatuo Mor has declared the area between Assam Rifles MT Garage and UNI office under Midland Colony as “No Parking Area” on both sides of the road. This notification was issued in pursuance of the provisions under Sec.117 and Sec. 127 of the Motor Vehicles Act 1988 and Sec.34 of the Indian Police Act 1881. The notification also stated that the rules have been brought into force with immediate effect and any vehicle found violating these rules shall be towed away by the Traffic Police and the cost for which, including penalties. will be borne by the owner of the vehicle concerned. The DC further informed all concerned that as and when checking is carried out, defaulters will be penalized as per law and ignorance or non pre-information of the same will not be taken as an excuse.
