
Kohima, June 22 (MExN): The Association of Kohima Municipal Wards Panchayats (AKMWP) reaffirmed and resolved that only one man/woman one vote should be strictly followed in the upcoming ULB elections 2024.
AKMWP President, Thejao Sekhose and General Secretary, James Yanthan in a press release stated that this was resolved during a meeting held on June 21 at 2K Hotel Kohima, which are to be followed by all contesting candidates under Kohima Municipal ward.
It resolved that no proxy voting should be allowed and no outsider shall be allowed on polling day on June 26. As per Election Commission of India and State Election Commission direction, all voters should produce their individual photo identification card on the polling day, it stated.
In the event of any untoward incident in any of the contesting wards the concern candidate shall be held responsible and shall bear the consequence if any, AKMWP stated.
