
Kohima, January 22 (MExN): The 9th National voters day with the theme “no voter to be left behind” will be held on January 25 Hotel Japfii, Kohima with Chief Secretary of Nagaland, R. Binchilo Thong as the Chief Guest. The Deputy Chief electoral officer, Vero Vero will deliver the welcome address while perspective & background speech will be given by Chief electoral officer, Abhijit Sinha, IAS. Chair, Youth Net, Hekani Jakhalu will share on ‘my vision for a clean election' while screening of flash mob videos on clean election will be presented by Additional CEO, N Moa Aier.
Kohima Chungtia Telongjem Cultural Club will present cultural presentation while District Icon, Kohima, Thejakhrieno Nakhro will deliver a short speech on "Role of youth in clean election".
CEO, Nagaland, Abhijit Sinha, IAS will present EPICS & NVD Badges to new voters. Deputy CEO, Ruokuovituo Khezhie will deliver the message of Chief Election Commissioner. Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Kohima, Thejawelie Gregory will be the chairperson of the programme.
ECI directs pledge for voters day
The National Voters' Day is celebrated all over the country on January 25 to register the newly eligible young (18+) in the electoral roll and also to promote electoral participation. In this connection, the ECI has directed all officers and staff in Government Departments of the State to take the NVD Pledge for promotion of democratic electoral participation in a brief programme held in the respective offices preferably around 11:00 AM, a DIPR report informed.
Meluri AERO/ADC informs on NVD
Rhosietho Ngouri AERO and ADC Meluri has informed all the Head of offices under Meluri sub-division that National Voters Day will be observed on January 25 at 10:00 am at DBs Customary Court. The program will be chaired by N NyamokKonyak EAC Meluri, short speech will delivered by president Puchury Hoho and political party representative, drama on election will be presented by SCF Meluri. Keynote address will be delivered by RhosiethoNgouri. AERO and ADC Meluri followed by pledge taking.
