
KOHIMA, JUNE 4 (MExN): The Nagaland Olympic Association (NOA) has announced that it will celebrate Olympic Day on June 23, 2025, at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Kohima, with a series of track events for children under the theme “Together for a Better World.”
Aligned with the Olympic Day’s global values of Move, Learn, and Discover, the event is designed to encourage physical activity, foster teamwork, and promote the Olympic spirit among the youth.
Children aged 8 to 12 years will compete in sprint races across four age-specific categories, with cash prizes exceeding Rs 1 lakh.
The track events are classified as follows- 50 meters – Boys & Girls (Born between June 22, 2015 – June 22, 2016); 80 meters – Boys & Girls (Born between June 22, 2014 – June 22, 2015); 80 meters – Boys & Girls (Born between June 22, 2013 – June 22, 2014); 100 meters – Boys & Girls (Born between June 22, 2012 – June 22, 2013). The reporting time is 8 AM on June 23 at the stadium.
Registration for the event is now open and will close on June 17, 2025. Interested participants can register online by scanning the QR code, using the link shared on the NOA’s official social media platforms, or by visiting the NOA office in Kohima for offline registration.
The NOA has called upon parents and guardians to encourage eligible children to take part in this celebration of sportsmanship and community, noting that the event will serve not only as a competitive platform but also a meaningful avenue to instill Olympic values in young minds.
