Noklak, July 5 (MExN): With the support of the National Commission for Women and Nagaland State Commission for Women, the SRCW, Noklak Police and Tuensang DLSA organised capacity building programme for Anti Human Trafficking Unit and other stakeholders dealing with prevention of human trafficking and rehabilitation of human trafficking victims. It was conducted at SP Noklak Office on July 4. A painting competition for students was also held, stated a press release received here. 

SP Noklak, Dr Pritpal Kaur IPS explained about Immoral Trafficking (Prevention) Act 1956 and Juvenile justice Act 2015.

She urged to implement Right to Education Act 2009 in principle and soul where everyone in society should join hands together to guide the youth in right direction. She explained cyber fraud cases, phishing, sextortion and other cyber modes of exploitation now days.

SDO (Civil) Noklak, Phuniang in his keynote address said, “Its responsibility of everyone in society to prevent the children from trafficking and combined efforts should be taken towards it.”

SDPO Noklak, Sangthing explained about roles and responsibilities of anti human trafficking unit in DEF Noklak. He explained case studies and modus operandi like social media misuse, by money and muscle power etc. “CUG numbers of Noklak Police can be contacted anytime for any help,” the SDPO added. It was informed that poster boards having CUG numbers with QR scan for Call Your COP app at conspicuous places of district. 

Adv Yemlong Chaba (Best PLV Zonal 2016) explained Immoral Trafficking Act, POCSO Act and existing Response systems along with legal mechanisms to address human trafficking. Cheliam Khiamniungan, NJS JMFC cum Secretary TDLSA spoke about legal services available for the victims of trafficking, victim compensation scheme and other service in which DLSA can help the people for service deliveries and grievance redressal.

KTC President, Thangou said that all the villages should be given awareness and there should be strict action against child labour. KMH GS Chongkoi spoke about the incidents of child trafficking and urged everyone to monitor and prevent the same. KSU President, Sangchiu said, “Children should not be sent for child labour and there is need to monitor drugs abuse and other intoxicants crimes also along with it. Education needs to be improved at district.”

In painting competition, Holy Angels School, Tsujang won 1st prize followed by Chao and Thangpong M in the 2nd and 3rd position respectively. Pamphlets in Khiamniungan language explaining legal procedures were also distributed. 

All wards chairman, NGOs, KTC, KMH, KSU, school teachers, dobashis, students and public participated in the programme. Earlier, invocation was prayed by Chaplain Mano of Police Baptist Fellowship, benediction by Chaplain Mano of Police Baptist fellowship church and it was chaired by Langshen, Noklak PLV Legal Aid Clinic.
