DIMAPUR (MExN): Members of the Marketing and Consumers Federation (Marcofed), a concern under the Nagaland State Cooperative Marketing and Consumers Federation Ltd. (NSCMCFL), Dimapur, have been deprived of their salary from time to time which has accumulated up to 48 months.
It has been reported that they had registered a case at the Kohima Court, a branch of the Guwahati High Court two years ago. Reports have also confirmed that the Kohima Court had already passed the order directing the Government of Nagaland to pay the employees and also to provide all the commission that other State employees received.
The Court, in its verdict, had stated that a 5 month period had been given to the Government to provide the employees the salary which had been kept pending for some time and to pay the workers at regular dates.
The 5 month deadline will expire on September 11, 2005. “We get salary sometimes only after 5 or 6 months and that too, only a month’s salary and like this the payment of salary for the rest of the month has been kept pending and at present we have been deprived of a total of 48 months salary” N. Singh, General Secretary of the employees union told this reporter.
The Revision of Pay (ROP) which is revised from time to time in every department is also reportedly not being implemented under the NSCMCFL.
