Norman Putsure College celebrates first freshers’ day

Chümoukedima, July 29 (MExN): Norman Putsure College (NPC), Chümoukedima celebrated its first freshers’ day for the first batch of students at the college auditorium with Abhinav Shivam, IAS, DC, Chümoukedima, as the chief guest on July 29. 

Speaking on the occasion, the DC Chümoukedima encouraged the students to keep their focus and to instill in them the spirit of hard work. He reminded the students to think critically and to reason and question the generally accepted paths and notions. He stressed on the importance of paving new paths, stated a press release received here. 

He stated that the students should indulge in productive hobbies, such as, reading, and to forgo unhealthy habits. He further stated that colleges and universities should create heroes and icons, who are great debaters, writers and thinkers. He stressed on the importance of restructuring the environment.

He concluded by encouraging the students to have a dream and to discover their interests. He reminded the students to stay devoted on the things that motivate them and to not let anyone deviate them from achieving their dreams. 

The programme was hosted by Fuchumlo Tsanglao, Assistant Professor, NPC and the opening prayer was pronounced by Pastor Avilie Puro. Saneinuo Putsure, Managing Director, NPC, delivered the welcome speech and wished the students three fruitful years at NPC.

Speech on behalf of the fresher was delivered by Tekhingla Sangtam of English Department. Songs and dance items by students were the highlight of the event. 

Also Tsukian Lamheing and Iloka G Shohe were adjudged as Miss and Mr Fresher 2022 respectively. The first session of the programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr K Timothy Hau, Principal, NPC.
