CHÜMOUKEDIMA, SEPTEMBER 16 (MExN): Norman Putsure College, Chümoukedima, organized and celebrated its Cultural Day on September 14 under the theme, ‘Embrace Diversity, Celebrate Unity’, at the college auditorium.
A press release stated that the Cultural Day was observed for the promotion of diverse culture embedded in the institution and the celebration of a rich tapestry of cultures and traditions of Northeast India as a whole. The urgent need to re-instill and revive the traditional values among the younger generation was emphasized by Principal Dr K Timothy Hau. He urged and encouraged the gathering to follow the tradition of respecting an elder in its truest sense and the traditional attire which carries along a meaning with it.
The program witnessed variations of activities like, folk dance, folk songs, cultural show, folk tale narration, snail eating competition and many more. The celebration concluded with much learning and enthusiasm from all the participants and the crowd.
