One dead in school van mishap   Our Correspondent Imphal | January 30   A school van driver was killed and 20 others, including 12 students and one traffic police personnel, were injured after a rush-hour accident today at Kwakeithel bazaar along the Tiddim Road in Imphal West. The deceased van driver was identified as Koijam Mangijao, 33, a resident of Meitram Awang Leikai in Imphal West. All injured students from PP Kids Foundation School, Kwakeithel Thounaojam Leikai were under 6 years old and among them, seven were critically injured in the accident that took place around 9:30 am. One student of DM College, Imphal and another from TG Higher Secondary School, Imphal were among the injured. All the injured have been taken to Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) here. The fatal road mishap occurred after the driver lost control of his van which rammed into a passenger loaded Tata Magic van being parked near a busy traffic point. The school van driver died on the spot and the 20 others were hurt. Both vans were badly damaged in the crash. The school van was carrying 15 students. A police case has been registered over the road mishap.    

PLA, KYKL cadres apprehended Imphal, January 30 (MExN): Troops of the 45 Assam Rifles apprehended one PLA cadre on January 29 at a vehicle check post in Pungdongbam in Imphal East District. AR identified the apprehended individual as A Binoy Singh, 36 years. He was later handed over to the Lamlai Police Station. In a separate operation on the same day, troops of the 16 AR apprehended one KYKL cadre in Uyumpok Maning Leikai in Imphal East. The cadre was identified as Pvt Athaokpam Nanao alias Laibakcha, 31 years. The cadre has been handed over to the Sagolmang Police Station.
