
Dimapur, June 21 (MExN): Notun Bosti Council Dimapur (NBCD) has resolved to maintain peaceful atmosphere and conduct free and fair election for the upcoming ULB elections in its jurisdiction. In a press release issued by its Chairman Imkongnukshi Imchen and Secretary Kavito Ayemi, the council said that the house has resolved to follow the guidelines and rules and regulations of the State Election Commission (SEC) and made resolutions as per the executive Committee discussion on June 15.
It said the house has resolved to maintain peaceful atmosphere and conduct free and fair election within its jurisdiction during election and any candidate who is willing to express their party manifesto are most welcome in the council.
It said only genuine voters will be allowed to caste vote and cautioned against any outsiders or bogus voters from casting votes in the colony.
Further, the council has prohibited political parties to organize youth camp within its jurisdiction.
“Any person/group creating unnecessary disturbance within the colony under the influence of alcohol, the Council will take stern action against the defaulters,” the council said.
The resolution also said that senior citizens and persons with disabilities (PwDs) will be given voting privilege and preference.
The NBCD further added that failing to comply or uphold with the resolutions, the council will take immediate and strict actions against defaulters.
