A music album entitled ‘Noudo Tsali’ by renowned Naga music composer and singer Visetuo Chüpuo and budding musician Ruokuose-ü Sanchu was released at Hotel Japfu, Kohima on April 21.
The album was released by legendary musician Methaneilie Jütakhrie Solo as the special guest. Speaking at the event, Methaneilie congratulated the duo on the release of the new music album and encouraged all Naga musicians to continue making music to connect with the people.
He said that music is a special gift from God which enables all people to relate to it in times of joy and sorrow. Solo expressed the beauty of how music can heal and comfort people.
He termed music as the best medicine, a morale booster, a teacher and a tool to reach out to people to share one's thoughts and ideas.
He pointed out that music, like in the Western world, can bring fame and wealth to musicians. He hoped that even in the state, Naga musicians who work hard to make music will also be able to achieve such feats. In this, he challenged local musicians to work hard and make it big in the music industry.
He thanked God for all the good things he has had through music, and said through it he was able to find tens of thousands of people who love and adore him.
Sharing his observation, Solo said music have the potential to present certain ideas and beliefs without sounding too harsh when it was properly incorporated into a song. He pointed out that Nagas have given a lot of importance to music from time immemorial.
Visetuo Chüpuo is a native of Zhadima village under Kohima district. This was his 7th studio album and the first album for his duet singer Ruokuoseü Sanchu. Visetuo is a singer popular for songs including Suna Raka, Neitseivonuo among others sang in Tenyidie language. He started singing at the age of 14 and has so far composed and released around 113 songs in total.
