November 8: Anti Demonitization Day in Manipur

Newmai News Network Imphal | November 2 Left parties in Manipur will be observing November 8 as 'Anti Demonetization Day'.   On November 8, 2016, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced demonetization of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 notes.   Speaking to media persons at Irawat Bhawan in Imphal today, CPI Manipur state unit Deputy Secretary, L Sontinkumar, alleged that the demonetization instead of controlling black money has given immense burdens to the general public. He alleged that over 100 people have died standing in long queues at the ATM booths.   According to the CPI leader, on the day various opposition parties will organise mass rallies in Imphal against the demonstration.   Meanwhile, speaking about Manipur situation, the CPI leader said that giving some sort of "extra powers" to all the districts will bring a balanced and equal development in the State.
