Nagaland’s dip in the number of new COVID-19 cases continued on Tuesday with 25 new cases during the last 24 hours. Another encouraging development is that the state now has two districts that are COVID-19 free. 

The number of patients that recovered was higher than new infections with 52 new recoveries during the last 24 hours, taking the total tally of recoveries to 3,728, with 87.8% recovery rate.

Of the total new cases on Tuesday, 21 were from Kohima, two from Mon and one each from Kiphire and Mokokchung.

As per the daily bulletin issued by the state Integrated Disease Surveillance Programme (IDSP), out of the cumulative 4,245 confirmed cases in the state, only 496 cases are active.

While majority of the cases are concentrated in Kohima (222) and Dimapur (195), two districts- Longleng and Peren are the only districts with ‘zero’ active cases.

As per the severity of symptoms, 485 active cases are asymptomatic, eight active cases are mild and three active cases are moderate.

Among the 4,245 positive cases, a total of 1,823 cases were reported among Armed Forces personnel and 1,312 cases from returnees. There were 309 cases among Frontline Workers and 801 cases from Traced Contacts.
