The tournament marked a milestone as the first official pickleball event in Nagaland, attracting 32 teams from across the state as well as neighbouring Assam. The competition featured two categories — Men’s Doubles Open and Mixed Doubles.
In the Men’s Doubles Open category, Megotsolie Khate and Vilasier Khate emerged champions, receiving a cash prize of Rs 15,000 along with the champions’ trophy. Dilip Mohanty and Abyan Zaffar were runners-up, awarded Rs 10,000 and runners-up trophies.

The tournament drew a sizeable crowd of spectators, with the PWR 50 designation giving the event national recognition and bolstering Nagaland’s presence in India’s pickleball circuit, the organisers said.
The NPA expressed gratitude to the Assam Pickleball Association for its support and partnership, terming it crucial to the success of the inaugural event.
The association also acknowledged Dilip Mohanty, who served as Tournament Director, for ensuring smooth coordination and maintaining a high standard of professionalism throughout the competition.
The NPA said the first edition of the Nagaland Pickleball Open reflects the growing popularity of the sport in the Northeast and reaffirmed its commitment to building an inclusive pickleball community in the state.
