Dimapur, January 18 (MExN): The formation of the “temporary platform” called Nagaland People’s Action Committee (NPAC) in June 2022 was solely for the purpose of giving public pressure to the political negotiators namely, GoI, NSCN-IM and WC, 7 NNPGs to expeditiously conclude the negotiations into solution, the committee reiterated today.
In a press release, NPAC said that the concerned tribal bodies and civil societies unanimously formed this platform “no matter how one tries to denounce it with prejudice.” During the last 6 months of its existence, the NPAC remains to be the open book of the public since it started with transparency and all its activities are without any hidden agenda but in the best interest of the people of Nagaland, it stated.
“As for the confidence of NPAC regarding the progress of negotiations between the GoI and Naga negotiating parties being achieved is satisfactory for the fact that what issue is negotiable and what is not is made transparent and there lies no more confusion. In other words, the GoI has paved the way for solution,” it stated.
Meanwhile, NPAC stated that the NSCN-IM and 7 NNPGs have reaffirmed and further strengthened the 14th September Joint Accordant in their joint meeting on January 14, 2023 stating, “Since the September Joint Accordant” of 14th September, 2022, the NNPGs and the NSCN have agreed to form the ‘Council of Naga Relationship and Cooperation’ led by the Convenor of NNPGs and the Chairman of NSCN, to explore, at the earliest, realistic ways for Nagas to move forward on the basis of Naga historical and political rights.”
‘The resolution was adopted in their joint meeting in Dimapur and signed by Q Tuccu, Chairman, NSCN and N Kitovi Zhimomi, Convenor, NNPGs on January 14, 2023. What else is required to be done then mutually ink what is agreed upon?’ it stated.
Meanwhile, it stated that ‘Resolution No. 2 of the 8 Tribal Hohos in particular is found to be primitive.’ “Be it the Tribal Hohos or any facilitator, if one has positive attitude, no punctuation is supposed to be interjected directly or indirectly so as to upset the progress of the development. We expect all the right thinking groups or individuals to become transparent and be bold enough to spell out what one stands for without camouflage, if one is for solution say so, whereas if the other is against solution, be open without inhibition,” NPAC stated.
“The NPAC makes it clear to the citizens in Nagaland in particular that we have to keep the records clear at whose behest the solution is sabotaged, after all what is important to the Nagas than the political solution. The NPAC remains committed to give its unflinching support to any group or organisation working for pragmatic solution,” it reiterated.
