NPC members attend South Asia youth peace camp

Kohima, January 15 (MExN): The Nagaland Peace Centre (NPC), Kohima sponsored a two- member team to attend the South Asia Youth Peace camp at Noakhali, Bangladesh held from December 19 to 25 last. The main objective of the programme was to enable the youth to encourage peace by participating in such inter -national level events. In 2009 also, Nagaland Peace Centre sent two delegates who attend the National Integration Youth Camp held at Srinagar, Jammu & Kashmir at the invitation of Dr. S.N. Subba Rao, director, National Youth Project, New Delhi. “Love, affection, togetherness and most of all the sermons on each and every occasion are the strong indications that youth are the backbone of our country,” said one of the participants. Much importance was given to north eastern states particularly Arunachal Pradesh and Nagaland. A reference was also made to have similar peace camp in Nagaland in the recent future, according to a release issued by NPC chairman N. Theyo.
