Dimapur, June 3 (MExN): The Nagaland Pollution Control Board (NPCB) in a notification has directed all metal scrap, paper waste, glass waste, plastic waste and other wastes traders as listed in schedule III (Part- D) to register on or before June 30, 2010 and submit quarterly reports to the Board.
NPCB, member Secretary, Rusovil John stated that the notification is issued in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 6 and 8 of the Environment (Protection) Act, 1986, and the Hazardous Waste (Management, Handling & Transboundary Movement) Rules, 2008 section 8 “Every trader desirous of import of metal scrap, paper waste and other wastes as listed in schedule III (Part- D) may make an application in Form-16 to any of the State Pollution Control Boards or Pollution Control Committees.”
