NPCC dismayed by DAN’s ‘anti-people’ policies

Dimapur, December 22 (MexN): The Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) is dismayed by the approval of the State Cabinet, which it calls ‘anti-people’, to create the post of one non-cadre post of adviser and Sr. Principal Secretary to Chief Minister under P & AR department.

“The decision was not only politically motivated but also grossly partisan and aberrant. If the need for such services is so indispensable, the Government could have created cadre post so as to give greater opportunity to the cadre services. Creation of non-cadre post of such nature was an insult to the cadre services as it undermined their ability and capability. The NPF-led DAN government has been known for giving space to few favored retirees while meting out injustice to the in-service cadres,” said the NPCC in a press release today.

The NPCC said it is also shocked by the Cabinet approval on allotment of site in favor of out-going Chief Secretary Lalthara under land revenue. “The very nature of un-natural decision proved that the allotment was made at the cost of the public. The arbitrary decision is nothing short of land encroachment/grapping under political clout,” said the NPCC press statement.

Blaming the cabinet for making decisions aimed at “taking electoral mileage with State election at hand,” the NPCC condemned the “anti-people policy” of the DAN government and demanded that the arbitrary Cabinet decisions be” withdrawn in the larger interest of the public failing which, the NPCC will explore all legal and constitutional means to challenge the decisions”.

The NPCC has also assured the public that in the interest of justice, such “anti-people policies” of the NPF will be subject to review “as and when the Congress party forms the next government”.
