NPCC responds to Rio’s take on booklet, Naga issue…

The NPCC is constraint to issue these statements so as to set the record straight on the issue based politics being pursued relentlessly by Congress party in the State.

The honorable Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio’s assertion that the booklet  ‘10 Years of NPF Misrule in Nagaland – A Decade of Scandals and Corruptions’  as a mere allegations was far from truth. As he himself have admitted, the contents of the book was nothing but an ‘expose’ of how the DAN Government indulge in rampant corruption for the sole aim to embezzle and amassed their ill-gotten wealth on the expense of the State exchequer that were based on the revelations obtain in the floor of the house through relentless questionings from the opposition benches. The NPCC have nothing more to say in support of the booklet but we are confident that the sensible Naga people will discern the truth and judge by themselves the difference between the truth and ‘allegations’.

His assertion of commitment towards ‘facilitating the solution’ and ‘paving the way’ on the Naga political problem is nothing but only a lip service so as to justify the DAN Government’s hip-hop stand on Naga political issue which has brought nothing but a betrayal to the Naga peoples’ aspiration. If he really meant what he said, the NPF legislators should have resigned en mass, the opportune moment offered by the opposition Congress legislators and by which act, today, the Naga people would not have faced this ensuing general election and that the ongoing peace process and solution to the Naga political problem could have been push forward to some concrete shape by now. The NPF campaign commitment of solving the Naga political problem within 3 months time way back in 2003 that are being echoing still after a decade is a self mockery on the very foundation of Naga people as a nation. The Naga people therefore must remember that nobody can fool anybody for always lest it becomes an anathema.

Blaming the Congress party of blocking the visits of the central leaders to the state and the release of funds was nothing but a diversion tactics very often adopted by the NPF led DAN government. The fact is that the central government could not trust the DAN government for so long because of their rampant indulgence in corruption in every level of governance, misuse of funds in CSS, fraudulent drawl of  money in the state exchequer, to cite a few. And so howsoever hard the NPF try to win the confidence of the Central government even by joining the UPA government as co-opted partner, the DAN government drew further away from the favor of UPA government in the centre thereby depriving the people of Nagaland various opportunity for development and progress.

As always, the Congress party shall work tirelessly without any reservation with all the neighboring states and people for peaceful co-existence.
