NPCC urges Gov to cancel appointment of Parl Secys & Advisors

DIMAPUR, JULY 30 (MExN): A delegation of Nagaland Pradesh Congress Committee (NPCC) office bearers led by its President, K Therie submitted a representation to the Governor of Nagaland on July 28, at Raj Bhavan Kohima to strike down the appointment of Parliamentary Secretaries and Advisors in accordance with the Supreme Court Judgment of July 26, 2017. A press release from the NPCC media cell issued today informed that the delegation informed the Governor of the SC judgment where it declared the “Assam Parliamentary Secretaries (Appointment, Salaries, Allowances and Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 2004 as unconstitutional and binding all over the country.” The NPCC in its representation strongly urged the Governor that the appointment of Parliamentary Secretaries and Advisors in Nagaland may also be interfered in accordance with the Supreme Court Judgment, “since their appointment is unconstitutional and without any legal sanction.”
