Mon, May 23 (MExN): With regard to the news item ‘Appeal to retain Mopong EAC headquarter’, NPF of 48 Moka A/C in Mon district has clarified that A Yangkon Konyak, who issued the statement, is not the Vice Chairman of Adhoc Town Committee of Mopong Town (ATCM) as he claimed.
A release from 48 Moka A/C President, EY Pongtau and General Secretary, H Langkham stated that W Shamlau Konyak is the present Vice Chairman of ATCM.
Stating that it views seriously the statement of Yangkon and for taking the general public for granted, the NPF requested the district administration to take necessary action for “tarnishing the image of ATCM thereby creating unwanted situation in the area.”
The NPF said it is well aware of the State Government’s decision in restructuring the administrative jurisdiction of Angjangyang SDO (C), Longching EAC HQ and Mopung EAC HQ Vide order dated Kohima, October 31, 2014. “Moreover since it is the prerogative of the Government, we are confident that the State Government promulgated this order for administrative convenience towards the service of the people. Hence, there is no issue of the people going against the decision of the Government which was done after observing the necessary formalities,” the release said.
Meanwhile, the party called upon all not to mislead the innocent public.
