Dimapur, February 7 (MExN): The Naga People’s Front (NPF) of 5 Ghaspani-II A/C has termed the claim of NPF officials of the constituency joining NDPP en masse as “fabricated and baseless election propaganda.”
The press secretary of NDPP, 5 Ghaspani-II A/C had in a press release published on February 6 claimed that the NPF officials along with over 8000 active and primary supporters joined the NDPP to support Zhaleo Rio.
In a rejoinder to the press release, NPF, 5 Ghaspani-II A/C president, Vilasielie Nakhro and general secretary, M. Alen Singson stated, “ever since the crisis erupted in the early part of 2015, the NPF 5 Ghaspani-II A/C loyalist of Dr. Shürhozelie Liezietsu, President NPF maintains and keeps an up to date enrolment record of its party diehard/loyalist.”
The NPF, 5 Ghaspani-II A/C told the former NPF members to avoid creating further confusion within the assembly constituency. “Too much confusion and damage had already been done, where the A/C has been deprived/denied,” it lamented, asking what developmental works have taken place. It rued that “nothing had been done in the past five years in the interest and wellbeing of the constituency public.”
The NPF further reiterated to “avoid and abstain from giving defamatory and fabricated press statements.” NDPP clarifies
With regard to the same press release – ‘NPF officials of 5 Ghaspani-II A/C resign en masse’ – published on February 6, the press secretary of NDPP, 5 Ghaspani-II A/C has clarified with “due apology” that those who joined the NDPP from 5 Ghaspani-II A/C should be read as “former NPF officials and members” and not as published. “The error which occurred due to misinformation is deeply regretted. The same has humbly requested readers to note the erratum and plead forgiveness if sentiments have been hurt in the matter,” added the press secretary, Thejangukho Yalietsu in a clarification note.
