NPF 59 AC Convention centers on Naga political issue

“The only party in the state whose constitution has mentioned to fight for the Naga political issue and solution is NPF party,” said C. Kipili, Power Minister while speaking at the convention cum felicitation programme of 59 AC Seyochung-Sitimi at Kiphire on September 15.  

Minister Kipili said that all other party in the state has developmental activities as their main objective in their constitution but not for Naga cause. “NPF is the only party which has taken the Nagas fight for Independence to the negotiable table to the office of Prime minister,” Kipili said while asking the party men “to spread the message of peace to every faction to stop fighting and unite together for final solution.”  

On the significant of the party symbol of NPF which is ‘Cock’ the Minister said that the symbol was based on the resolution adopted by the Nagas during the Naga Plebiscite of 1951 and “till now we are using this symbol, so NPF is a political settlement, political party of the Nagas.”  

Lamenting on the differences that the State is undergoing in Naga political issue the Minister said, “Nagas have struggled for nearly 80 years now but so far many do not know what the real meaning of Independence.” He urged the gathering to unite together to work for the cause of the Nagas.   The Minister advised the citizens of Kiphire not to get confused or puzzled with hearsay and asked to authenticate and cross checked on any issue for the welfare of the community.  

The Minister further advised the village elders and the leaders present to have accountability and transparency in any developmental projects that is being taken up in the villages and community so that there is no infighting and misunderstanding in the community.  

Moasongba President NPF Mokokchung district who also spoke on the occasion advise the leaders to be responsible and united if the district wants two NPF representatives in the state legislature in the forthcoming election.  

Anungba Imsong, General Secretary NPF Central in charge Kiphire who also spoke on the occasion said, “today during NPF regime there is no opposition so we should not let history repeat again” and asked the party men to work with utmost sincerity. Imsong appealed the gathering not to miss the opportunity of peace talk of the present government initiative.  Party leaders from different areas spoke on the occasion.
