NPF accuse Cong of ‘irrational scanning’

Dimapur, November 6 (MExN): The NPF responds to another attack of the NPCC over the law and order issue in the state. The Congress is “irrationally scanning and demeaning the mammoth infrastructural achievement of the DAN Government within a period of six years” a rejoinder the NPF said.

According to the NPF “democratic polity allows two kinds of entity – ruling (and) opposition to achieve the true meaning an objective of democracy, but merely opposition and critizing the government of the day without any rhyme or reason undermined the true essence of democracy”. The rejoinder issued through NPF associate press secretary Shilumar Ao reminded the Congress “to look back and refresh their governance of two decades”.

“It is given fact that during the Congress regime, extortion, unnecessary harassment of innocent civilians, random factional killing were the order of the day. The Naga people were under constant pressure to protect their livelihood. Ethnic cleansing and assassination attempt prosper during the Congress regime whereby even the then chief minister was attempted many a time from being assassinated” the NPF asserted.

During their regime, the NPF said, the Congress “even contemplated to banned and divided the apex student body of the Nagas the Naga Students Federation (NSF).In totality, divide and rule was their hidden agenda that rule the roast, the scar of which, is yet to be heal”. The NPF explained that “in the final front, with no proper planning and management, the financial reality was at lowest ebb with no direction, works programme was never heard of and more so become a taboo, cutting of plan money to mind size in the middle of the fiscal year become a normal practice.’ The government employees were constantly in tenterhooks, so called tightening of the belt or plan holiday was always a good option for the Congress party” and the “matter of the fact is fiscal management, was alien to them”.

With regard to the allegation of extravagance of the DAN government for constructing the residential bungalow of the DGP, the NPF stated that the allegation may be termed as “joke of the year”.

“The residential Bungalow of the DGP is not a private property of the NPF nor of the DAN government. It belongs to the people of the state and it is the pride of the state. The DAN government is constructing not only big buildings, countless of roads and other frastructures, but also many departmental staff quarters, which were neglected by the Congress government, during the 20 years of the rule” the NPF claimed.

If at all the Congress is serious for the welfare of the Naga people, the NPF said, “they should spell out what they had done and achieve during their 20 long years, perhaps, they are capable of finding faults even on the place of paradise, they are quite smart”.
