
KOHIMA, MARCH 11 (MExN): The Naga Peoples’ Front (NPF) has announced its support to NDPP candidate Dr Chumben Murry for the lone Nagaland state parliamentary constituency in the forthcoming Lok Sabha election 2024. Informing this, MLA and Secretary General, Working Committee, NPF, Achumbemo Kikon said the resolve was made during the NPF Working Committee meeting on March 11 with the view of upholding the “spirit of opposition-less government” and to “play the role of active facilitators to bring about an early honourable, acceptable and inclusive solution to the protracted Indo-Naga political issue.” Concerning the outer Manipur parliamentary constituency, Kikon informed that there are 4 (four) applicants including the sitting MP seeking NPF Ticket. For this, the Central Office has constituted a search committee to identify the rightful candidate whose report and recommendation is still awaited, he added. The Working Committee will meet on March 18 at the NPF Central Office, Kohima to discuss and decide on the matter.
